We are aware of an individual contacting people who have lost money in crypto scams and offering to help them recover funds. The individual poses as a ‘Michael Miller’ and claims to be an employee or finance manager at FM Legal.
No individual under this name has ever worked for us, and we have no link to this identity, past or present.
The FCA has warned about this identity since 2018, when it flagged “Michael Miller” as a cloned firm name used to impersonate an authorised business (FCA warning). The name is still in use today.
If someone contacts you like this:
- Do not send money or share personal details.
- Do not trust claims of a job title, phone number, or email
- Report the approach to us and to Reportfraud (UK Police).
If you’re unsure whether someone contacting you really works for us, check them against our official ‘People‘ page or call us on our published number, not one they give you.
