Her commercially grounded, solution-oriented approach enables organisations to make informed decisions quickly and with confidence.
She advises banks, payment and e-money institutions, leading global technology
companies, major digital marketplaces and high-growth platforms, including large-
scale gaming and platform ecosystems, on complex regulatory frameworks
underpinning their payments and monetisation models. Her experience includes
enabling platform-based businesses to operate globally while navigating payments
regulation, anti-money laundering requirements, consumer protection, distance
marketing, data protection and, where relevant, consumer credit considerations.
A significant part of Veca’s practice involves projects that span multiple jurisdictions,
which results in the additional complexity of the interaction between differing
regulatory regimes. Veca has led multi-jurisdictional initiatives covering the UK, the
EU and the rest of the world, working with a long-established network of trusted local
counsel. She advises on licensing strategies, regulatory perimeter analysis, and the
use of exemptions and safe harbours, enabling clients to scale internationally.
Veca is closely involved in the evolution of the European payments regulatory
framework. She previously sat on the European Banking Federation committee that
developed the original industry guidance on PSD2 and continues to engage in policy
discussions relating to PSD3 and the future of payments regulation.
She trained at a Magic Circle law firm, focusing on finance and corporate law before
specialising in financial regulation.
