Qazi is an expert on regulatory matters with a focus on payment services, e-money, data protection, consumer credit and general financial services. He also advises on anti-money laundering regulation, consumer protection law and fintech, in particular crypto assets and virtual currencies.


Qazi has advised on a variety of projects in the financial sector, including projects on EU and ROW multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements in the field of data protection and payments law, the negative scope of the EU e-money and payments regimes, introduction of innovative payment products across the globe, and UK and EU consumer credit compliance. 

Qazi currently sits on the Dispute Resolution Committee of the European Payments Council (EPC) having previously been a member of the EPC’s legal support group. He attends and has spoken at a number of European conferences.

Before becoming a lawyer Qazi worked as a research engineer at Imperial College London, advising multi-national corporations on optimising their supply chains. He then trained as a solicitor in the City at a magic circle firm and went on to work as a corporate tax solicitor at a leading international law firm and then a leading US law firm before specialising in financial regulation.
